The team behind clubbers’ paradise Pacha have officially announced plans to open a Dubai nightclub early in 2014.
And what’s more, the new Souk Madinat super-club – which will sit on the former home of Trilogy – is to be the first and only club outside of Spain to bear the full Pacha Ibiza name.
In July Time Out revealed that the iconic brand was moving into the emirates, following the close of Trilogy at the end of the season, but the world was left waiting for an official announcement.
On Friday September 13 news of the club officially broke in the most appropriate way – with a launch party in Ibiza itself.
UAE firm Utopia have confirmed they are behind the forthcoming three-storey, 27,000 sq ft venue, which will include a restaurant, lounge, cabaret space, and – as you might expect from Pacha – promises to host ‘a selection of the world’s best DJs’.
We’ve also got our hands on this first picture of the club. The above image is an artist’s render of the lounge area.
Since launching in Ibiza in 1967, the Pacha name has been franchised out to more than 20 different clubs across the world, including venues in Brazil, Australia, Russia, the UK, USA and – closest to home – Egypt.
However in a coup for the emirates, Pacha Ibiza Dubai will be the only club aside from the original to bear the word ‘Ibiza’ in its title.
In a 2012 poll of the world’s 100 best nightclubs by trendsetters DJ Magazine, the original Ibiza Pacha came in third.
Here’s looking forward to the planned early 2014 launch date.
